The Missouri Tigers athletics programs with the extramural and intramural sports teams of the University of Missouri in Columbia. The women's teams are sometimes called the Lady Tigers, but often both the men's and women's teams are simply called the Tigers. Mizzou is a member of the Big 12 Conference and is the only NCAA Missouri Tigers Football Bowl Subdivision program in Missouri. Being the member of Big 8 besides Big 6 and Big 7, Missouri Tigers also actively participated in Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association from 1907-1928. With Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium as their home field, the football bowl champions have won laurels by making a record of 10-14, while playing 24 bowl games. The University of Missouri (Mizzou or MU) is regarded as the flagship institution of the University of Missouri System.
