Mark Runacres has been Minister and Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission, Delhi since 2002.
Mark joined the foreign office in 1981. His love for India led him to study Hindi, which he speaks fluently. He was posted to Delhi from 1983 to 1986, heading the Political Section at the High Commission.
Over the years, Mark’s expertise in political affairs on Asia resulted in him holding various senior positions as Deputy Head, South East Asia Department and later Director, South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa, Department of Trade and Industry.
